God’s Plan for Salvation

Do You Need to Be Saved?

  • Psalm 97:2 – God is holy.  No sin will ever enter His presence, for “righteousness and judgment are the habitation of His throne.”
  • Romans 3:23 – Man is sinful.  “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
  • Isaiah 59:2 – Sin separates man from God.  “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you.”
  • Romans 3:20 – it is impossible for man to save himself.  “By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight.”

Can You Be Saved?

  • I John 4:10 – God sent His son to be your Savior.  “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
  • Matthew 11:28 – The living Savior invites sinners to receive Him.  “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
  • I Peter 3:18 – Forgiveness of sins and salvation can be yours today.  “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God.”

How Can You Be Saved?

  • Romans 5:8 – Agree with God that you are a lost sinner unable to save yourself.  “God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
  • John 1:12 – Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and ask Him to be your Savior.  “As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”
  • Romans 10:9 – Confess the Lord Jesus Christ before men.  “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
  • John 5:24 – “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

Four Things That God Wants You To Know

  1. You Need to Be Saved.
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).  Every one of us shall give account of himself to God (Romans 14:12).  It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way (Isaiah 53:6).
  2. You Cannot Save Yourself
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us (Titus 3:5).  For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all (James 2:10).  There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 14:12).  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:  no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me (John 14:6).
  3. Jesus has Provided for Your Salvation
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God (I Peter 3:18).For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
(2 Corinthians 5:21).  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
  4. You Can Be Saved Today
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2).  He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life (John 5:24).

Your Part to Be Saved

  • Believe – Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved (Acts 16:31).
  • Repent—(Turn from your sins) Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish (Luke 13:3).
  • Confess Your Sin to Jesus – For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus
    (I Timothy 2:5).
  • Confess Jesus Before Others – If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).
  • Trust Him to Keep You – He is able to keep you from falling (Jude 24).
